RAPTURE-READY WATCHERS #7
In the synoptic gospels Jesus commands His followers to be ready for His second coming. Readiness implies preparation. Emphasis is on three things: Watchfulness; Faithfulness and Fruitfulness.
34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.
35 “For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
The second coming of Christ will commence with the evacuation of Christians to heaven. Rapture has eligibility criteria one of which is watchfulness. To be a rapture watcher is to take necessary steps to qualify for the sudden uplift to heaven.
A Rapture Watcher, therefore, has distinctive characteristics.
A Rapture Watcher is a born-again Christian who is conscious of the eligibility criteria for participating in the rapture of the Church.
A Rapture Watcher is a follower of Christ desirous of participating in the rapture of the church as a sleeping or living saint in grand style by being perfect.
A Rapture Watcher works out his or her entry into heaven by being watchful over needful things, ready at all times for sleep or evacuation to heaven meanwhile being busy doing what the Master has assigned to him or her to do before He returns.
A Rapture Watcher is aware of the imminence of Church rapture and contends daily with the kingdom of darkness to avoid being left behind.
