Hello Frances.
2 Corinthians 3:14 tells us that only in Christ is the veil taken away.
If you are in Christ, the veil HAS been taken away so that we can be transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory (2 Corinthians 3:18).
This is why it is imperative to know Christ by becoming born again and then, to know who you are in Him.

So regarding your question “What then shall we do?” The answer lies only in accepting the price Christ already paid for our sins.
