You’re welcome. It’s ALL by God’s grace.
An advocate is a person who pleads for or on behalf of another.
When we are saved, God credits Jesus’ righteousness to us. We are no longer sinners living in darkness. But this does not mean that we can never sin.

1 John 2:1 states, “My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One”

If we sin, after being saved, we can trust in Jesus as our Advocate who pleads our case before God because we have put our faith in His finished work on the cross.

Thank you for this!! This has been wonderful!!
Can you explain a little further about Jesus being our advocate? I’m having a hard time grasping this, My understanding is when we are saved we are sinless and because of that we can be with Jesus/God in heaven, so why do we still need Him to be an advocate??
